Thing-a-Day - 3/28 - Organizer bag
(Slightly back-dated due to maintenance time. ;P)

Thing-a-Day Three - an organizer bag!

I am trying to cut down on the amount of crap I bring to events and as part of that effort, I have eliminated a lot of the little boxes o’ stuff I used to cart around. However, I am not willing to give up on my magical ability of “yeah, I have that” so I have reorganized into a roll-up organizer bag.

After I shot the photos, I decided to add some “labels” on each pocket (left to right):

Red cross- first aid

Yellow Rx – meds

Blue ogham E – Eithni’s personal stuff

Silver spoon – food-related items

White square – Kleenex, etc

Flame/string/stick – misc useful items

*****************************************************************************

For Alienor and other confused folks:

Stuff gets packed into each of the pockets - comb partially in the second pocket from the left, to illustrate.

The top flap gets folded down, displaying the embroidered labels.

Roll the pockets up from right to left and tie with the yellow ties.

Top view of the rolled and tied pockets.

One of my populace calls these "housewives" (she used to do mountain man stuff) and she donated 4 of them to the Estrella gift baskets 2 for men (duck tape, bandaids etc) and 1 for women (tissues, bandaids, feminine stuff etc).

I've been thinking I might start doing that to get rid of my modern mesh zip bags I use to separate things.

I am actually currently cheating and using zippy bags in the pockets. Eventually I want to make little linen bags, but for now it will do. :)

Ok, I am feeling like a dork here. Can you elaborate on how this thing works? I'm having troubles picturing it in my head. It sounds super handy though?
