Thing-a-Day - 26/28 - Tiniest Viking hat
Viking baby bonnet

Line hat, handsewn with linen embroidery and whipcorded ties.

Baby clothes, whether made or purchased, are coated in crack and estrogen. Even fencingkitty  had the "Awwww..." response.

This and the tunic from yesterday's Thing go in the mail tomorrow as a tiny Viking outfit for a friend's spawn, expected next week.

Very cute.

Thanks! :)

I think I'm getting an estrogen high from all this little people garb, though... and there's still at least one more little tunic and one more hat to go before Gulf Wars, plus a few more for a different project later in March.

Oi! this is clearly damaging to my biological clock! :P

Damaging or winding? :)

Still they are fun to make stuff for.

Damaging or winding? :)

Heh. Yes.

Heh, A child would be lucky to have you as a mom. They would be warped in so many interesting ways.

:) Thanks!

Okay, so remind me at some point to commission some baby garb from you for Nico. Too cute!
eithni: embroideryeithni on February 28th, 2009 09:51 am (UTC)
:) Happy to do so...

I need:
Head circumference
Shoulder width
Arm length
Shoulder to feet
hip to feet

Would be useful:
Body circumference
Neck circumference
hand circumference
foot circumference

However, I am booked SOLID until mid-April, so perhaps take those measurements then and send them to me with a reminder... I'll likely make things on the big side, knowing how fast munchkins grow.

Oh! Death from cuteness!

Also... how exactly does one post to a Mailing List?
eithni: inferno eyeeithni on February 28th, 2009 07:36 am (UTC)
That depends on the mailing list. :P

If you mean the Jara list, there should be an address at the top to reply to or email me privately and I'll send it to you.

I do mean the Jara list- I'm trying to work up enough nerve to post for help with moving. Then I realized that I wasn't sure of how to post to this ML or the etiquette involved. Do I need to list things as OT?

Thank you!
eithnieithni on March 1st, 2009 05:28 am (UTC)
Mark it as OT but it will be OK.

POST already, girl. Get over it. :P

Awwwww...it's a tiny Dublin Coif!

Is it lined or did you just roll over the edges and hem? And is that herringbone on the back too or just on the top?

The edges are just turned over and there is herringbone along all of the edges and seams. :)
