For Sol, Iohanna, and other feast geeks
I caught the very end of this program on medieval foods, in particular the foods of the Ottoman Empire, on WPR this week so thought I'd share.

Here On Earth: Radio Without Borders  - 090724K
Have you ever wished you could experience an historical event first-hand? After three, on Here on Earth: Radio without Borders, join Jean Feraca and her guest to relive an ancient feast in the Ottoman Empire.

Guest: Channon Mondoux, professional chef and food historian.

"relive an ancient feast in the Ottoman Empire"

Are they saying that the Ottoman empire existed in antiquity?

The web copy writer is apparently unclear on that... he probably listens to the first five minutes and then writes the blurb. :P

Sounds lovely. Sadly, I missed it. And since I'm not a WPR donor, I don't have access to the archives. Sigh.

Re: from Sol
Bummer. I am a WPR donor, but am uncertain of how one signs in for that. :/ I met the speaker this week, actually - she was teaching in the same tent I was taking a class in during the next hour, so I hear the last 10 minutes of her class. "Handouts" were $20, though, so I didn't grab you one.
