Damage
*sigh*

On top of everything else this perfect week, my wrist is completely messed up. What did I do? I have no idea. Midday at Coronation is started feeling stiff, by dinner it was hurting. Today, it was seriously painful. And, guess what? This is formulary development week where I spend the whole week typing and mousing like mad... and can't even sew as a stress relief when I get home, which is JUST what I need.

Awesome.

Keep that brace on it and pop your vitamin I. Depending on how ambidextrous you are, you could try mousing with your left hand instead.

Mmmm... Vitamin I. :)

Reminds me somewhat of my situation. All my lectures are over, so all I've got left to do is write essays and now my laptop's decided to run prohibitively slow. Good luck.

Maybe you strained it holding Emily for a prolonged period during court. I often find that I don't notice while I am damaging my wrist, but it stiffens up later and hurts like hell.

It's worth learning to mouse left-handed. I started doing it at work mainly so I could do 10-key numeric entry with my right hand and advance through the forms with my left, but it has really cut down on the wear and tear to my right hand and wrist.

I don't think it was the bebe holding, since it distinctly feels like a sprain, not an overuse injury (which I am completely familiar with how that feels) and I was consciously rotating elbows and shoulders with the spawn. I actually think, in retrospect, I probably torqued it picking up the chest Gev made, since it was significantly heavier than I'd thought.

I'm actually awful at leftie mousing, so I'll prolly just make good use of the arrows.

Culvers' might also provide stress relief - and you can ice down your wrist at the same time!

I was wondering if it might have been all the bebe holding too...

Hope it feels better soon. If you need an extra hand for something until it does, let me know if I can be of help please.

Heh. Culvers therapy always helps.

No fun. I have only recently transferred over to using a mouse, having used a trackball for fifteen years; I used to lock up like crazy moving my whole arm. Maybe a track ball would help you?

Eithe way, I hope it feels better soon!

As someone who types for a living, who has had both RSI and weight-lifting wrist issues, and who needs her wrists for stress-relief activities, I send my strongest wishes for your fast recovery. Because that is crazymaking. I hope that you can get through this week without aggravating it more and then have some time to heal!
