I am a creature of habit...
My touch of OCD has become evident in my recent gym-going adventures. I feel a little offended (I realize entirely unreasonably) when I go to the gym and "my" locker (#13) or "my" shower ( the second from the right) is in use. I have my little circuit of weights and it always throws me off a bit when someone is on whichever machine I am "supposed" to use next...

And, today, my habits bit me in the ass. I have a little bit of a cold but I had not been there in a few days due to birthday and event festivities, so I forced myself to go. Out of habit, I did the usual circuit, but apparently even my cream puff routine was too much and I was wrecked by the end of the workout. :P *sigh*

If you can still do your workout while your body is working overtime to evict a virus you are doing great! Congratulations--that *is* an accomplishment, even if it doesn't feel like one at the time.

Thanks. I just felt stoopid at the time. :P

I feel your pain. I become aghast and incredulous any time someone gets on *my* treadmill...as if someone just walked into my house and started using my toaster.

Then I feel a little ashamed that I feel that way, but not enough so that I won't get on the treadmill next to them, and the second they get off *my* treadmill I hop on that one.

I'm broken, clearly.

FYI - I hope you don't mind, I friended you because of my interest in pictish culture.

Heh. I have NO IDEA what that's like. ;P

Happy to have you here, I'm always in search of more Pictish Geeks. Are you on my SCA-Pictish list? It's pretty quiet, but has some useful stuff now and again.

I am! I signed up for that a few months ago and just by chance stumbled across you in lj land too. It's so hard to find good pictish geekery :)

Heh. And in reading your short bio, we have even more in common - I'm a pharmacy geek (PharmD '02) who felt the need to return to school and finish up my English lit degree (BS '04) and who has done a bit of writing for pharmacy journals and now works as a Part D plan administrator. :)

I noticed you were a Pharm D! Pharmacy has been a passion of mine since I was in high school. I used to edit drug studies for some major pharmaceutical companies and then ended up following a rabbit down a hole and ended up in a completely different field purely by chance.

I miss the field a lot, but not the stress these days.

Well, this is totally me, so either that's totally normal for gymgoers, or I've got a touch of OCD, too. :-)

Heh. Maybe we need a support group. ;)
