Coronation - Garb and Apprenticing
Here's a photo of my garb for Coronation. If you look closely, the outer layer has green, red, and purple froggies! Squee!

So... I realized that this outfit made me a Japano-Scot.... Even worse, I may have been JaPictanese. ;)

And here's a few shots of the apprenticing - 14th century Mafia apprentice and Pictish Laurel in Japanese garb... some cognitive dissonance there...

Hurray for another minion! Welcome to Katlyn, my newest apprentice!

Given that you're a Pict, one would not expect you to know whether "froggies" are appropriate to Japanese clothing--gotta ask, 'tho', was your new apprentice wearing a reasonable attempt at "14th. Century" Japanese?

Tongue *very* firmly wedged within one's left cheek ; )

Hers was borrowed, so I doubt it. She was settling for something that fit around her and her rapidly growing belly.

We loves froggies, yes we do! Keeping the kitchen green flip flops would have really gilded the lily.

And I absolutely LOVE that in the last photo, you and your new apprentice are wearing clothing from the same period and culture, which would NEVER happen otherwise!

I wore the flip flops later in the evening too, once the sandals got too soggy.

I do like those photos too... I lovelovelove my Pictish dorkiness, but I do think it is important to play with and enjoy other cultures too. They also reminded me that I'm taller than I often perceive myself to be. :P
