Boar's Head
I've had a fairly successful weekend.

Friday, I was pretty productive. n the morning and early afternoon, I did a lot of cleaning around the house that was sorely needed. Then,[info]ego_id_non_feci came over and we sat around projecting for the afternoon. I was working on some Coronet padding for TRM and myself and some appliance covers for my kitchen. The covers fit quite well and the fabric is the perfect color to match... only in my kitchen would that color of green be "camouflage"!

The evening was full of busy-ness - a run to the bank, a stop by the post office to mail Christmas presents, packing for Boar's Head, and some crafty time finishing little projects.

Saturday, I got up decently early and headed to the Boar's Head site. Despite a missed turn (which I luckily caught very quickly), I got to site at about the target time. The very first order of business was to see my apprentice K's new baby girl. Oh dear gods, is she a cutie! There was a fair bit of fussing at first, but then she quieted down and had a little nap time while I held her. Just 'cause sirzig  doesn't have enough baby-induced estrogen, I brought her over to him and mightyjesse  to coo over and they both obliged. :) Eventually I had to give the baby back, though, and even succeeded in getting her into her cradle without waking her. The latter part of the morning was a flurry of linen and book deliveries. I generally don't deal in books, but the new Janet Arnold Patterns of Fashion 4 - The Pattern and Cut of Linen Shirts, Smocks, ... seemed thematic and by ordering a case from Britian, I was able to get it reasonably cheaply and before it was available in the States. (For those of you that missed out - it IS now available from Amazon.com at the link above, and for only about $1 more than I was able to order it for.) Anyway, I was able to distribute most of them by midday while managing to do some speed shopping and only acquire one piece of fabric for myself.

I grabbed a slice of the cheese bread for lunch and then ran off to meet up with HrRH for the Princess' Sleeve Tourney. I got to sit next to her and "interpret" throughout the tourney. (Since that was my primary activity for the day, I wore my Fishy Italian that I usually reserve for ARRG and so spent the day all gussied up and only marginally useful. :P) It was nice to just sit and enjoy the tourney, though. I rarely have the time to watch something like that all the way through. As a bonus, the Flower Tourney on the Heavy Weapons Tourney field meant that periodically I got deliveries of carnations, mostly from my Baronial Championrobstout, but also from three other fine fighters, so I had a lovely bunch by the end of the tourney. After the Princess' Sleeve Tourney, I had a little bit of free time to socialize and place some bids on the silent auction (none successful, though) before reporting for duty as HsRM's retainer. Sadly, by the time I was thinking about court and scrolls, I had managed to miss brionnfhionn, and I had a scroll for her to sign. :/ Court was a lot of fun - good company and exciting goings ons, including a Tyr for corvusjoyous, a Balefire for my apprentice K, and AoA for a Jara lady. As a bonus, the scroll blank contest folks offered some prizes, including a gift certificate to Evil Eithni's Linen Emporium, which got a big laugh from the crowd. :) After court, I went out for dinner with a huge swarm, but we were divided into smaller booths so most of the evening's conversation was with katrionans, ingusmoen  and his family. Afterwards, I collected zarhooie and we went to D's for the bardic postrevel. On the way, I got a call from ilaifire  about an accident on I-94 and relayed that info to site via the D PA system. I proceeded to the postrevel in Madison and had a good time chatting and singing for a few hours. I had been waffling about whether to stay or not, but a bit after midnight, I finally decided to drive home and sleep in mine own little bed. At least I was leaving late enough to miss the mess on I-94.

Sunday, I slept in, at least as much as possible. I read for a bit until the house was quiet again and then I snoozed for a bit more. Eventually, I got up, went to an art show, and met up with gflower, leleth_faery  and arebekah  for dinner. (I just now realized I was dumb and forgot about another party I was invited to this afternoon. *sigh* I had been planning on seeing the host on Saturday and that being my reminder - she didn't show so it just now occurred to me. Dammit.) I had delusions of being productibe this evening, but it looks more likely that I will spend it relaxing and watching the House Marathon. Ah, defective, brilliant smartass... so sexy. ;)

Janet Arnold book
I was going have Anne & Geoff pick up my copy of the book, but they didn't make it to the event. Would you be able to take it with you to Nordskogen 12th night and give it to them there. They've said that they'll bring it up to me the following weekend for our 12th night. Failing that, maybe TRM could bring it up when they come to our 12th Night?
