Weekend of Fail
Well, I have had more successful weekends.

Despite staying home from work on Thursday and my usual Friday off, I was still a bit sick from this week's cold when the weekend's guests showed up. I did my best to decontaminate the house - washing all the linens, cleaning and Lysol-ing everything, and even opening the house up for a bit since the day was warm. Sadly, my virally-infected self was not the sickest person in the house - the boys stopped at a Chinese restaurant on the way in and apparently some of the sushi or something was off. They all felt a little off, but poor S was too sick to eat dinner and had a truly miserable night.

Saturday started out poorly, too. I was running on minimal sleep and somewhere between getting into the car and getting on the highway I decided we were going to the Flesh Wound site - the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, not the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds... *sigh* I luckily realized the mistake before too long, but my attempt to correct by heading North on a county road was a little special since there had been snow the night before and the plow had not yet been through. Ugh. Happily, we still made it to site with time to set up and dress before morning Court. The day passed pleasantly, if in a tired and headache-y blur. At 3PM I scooted off site, checked into the hotel, and had a blissful two hour nap before returning to site. Someone even remarked upon our return that I looked so much better pink than pale green, even if it showed off my cold-reddened nose to better advantage. :P Evening court was fun, particularly my "presentation" for Grimmy. Feast was yummy and the company good, but it was splendid beyond measure to get into the hot tub at the hotel. Unfortunately, the chlorine eventually triggered a migraine. I took my meds and laid down for a bit, but even so I was only able to be social for a little while before the noise sent me to bed for the night.

Sunday we checked out of the hotel and drove back to Madison for lunch, since H had forgotten his phone in my basement and the boys could not just go back home directly from Fond du Lac. (Considering his adventures coming home from Fighter's school last year, H was not entirely disappointed by this. :P) There was a slight detour on the way home, too, since I somehow didn't take the correct split when 151 left 41, but we jogged over on 49, which is one of my favorite county roads, going past a windmill farm and Horicon Marsh, so it was a pretty ride at least. We had a nice lunch at Red Robin (except for M, who got a hair in his burger... and a free lunch) and then the boys hit the road. I had a little nap and a bit o' dinner, but still feel a little run down so it will be an early night for me, I think.
