The devil farts in my face again...
Ugh. Lovely night tonight, right up until the part where I was congratulating myself on finishing up #7 for my April Thing-a-Day and was thinking about posting them. Then, I put down the woodburner, which immediately rolled off the table and onto the floor. Oh, but not onto the tile or carpet, that would have been too simple! On to the neck pillow over-filled with tiny styrofoam beads! Which promptly burst and spewed little foam beads everywhere. >:/

So - pillow with depleted stuffing and a hard-edged hole where the cover melted, a woodburner ruined by being covered in melted dinosaur by-product, and a room that smells like ass. Perfect end to the night.

Serves me right for having synthetics about, I suppose. :p

Sympathies, my dear, but it *does* read like a script for the Three Stooges (sans two), or Seinfeld. : )

Agreed. Knowing that it was not *a big deal*, I lol'd.

:P It was funny... at least once the smell started to dissapate...

*snerk* I know, that's why I shared. I'm not above letting my friends and readers laugh at my follies.

Blame the synthetics, or maybe blame the time when you were working on things instead of sleeping ;)

:P Who needs sleep!?!?! It was clearly gravity at fault on this one...

A bit of sand paper and the wood burner is good as new.

Thing-a-Day #8
Trim the edge of the pillow smooth.
Fill in the lost bit of foam with jasmine rice, stir well.
Sew on a patch. Or just make an entirely new cover from scratch.

jtdiii FTW!

Honey, it happens we all have the little screw ups.

Yeah, I know... this one was amusing after only a short time, though, so I thought I'd share.

Already had fixed the pillow by the time I posted. The woodburner, sadly, is toast. It landed pretty much point down in the pillow and so was completely COATED in plastic. I was able to cut off a lot of it off with a utility knife, but it's bad - I can't even unscrew the tip. I messed with it a little last night and decided that 1) they only cost about $10 and 2) I have two others, so I threw it out. :P But I have used the sandpaper trick in cases of less... um... complete coverage. :P

Um, thanks for reminding me I need to buy a woodburner?
eithni: snapeeithni on April 9th, 2009 07:18 am (UTC)
I suggest not dipping it in plastic. The room still does not smell quite right. :/

The visual was so amusing. (Subject line was excellent as well!)
I feel a little bad, but no harm done.

No problem. I shared, because I recognized it was funny. the distance required to funny was actually pretty short.

But *I* wanted to be Blackadder when I grew up. *pout*

I can think of only one thing that would have added to the mayhem. A static-charged cat. (Been there, done that, got the leaky bean-bag chair.)
