Productivity, of sorts
Well, I had a tidy list of what I needed to do tonight. Very few of the listed items actually got done, but I am pleased with my productivity nonetheless.

Miss Seraphina came over and extracted my peonies and traded me some lingon berries for them, bringing me up to six lingonberry plants and five currants planted this year. Yay for weird fruit!

Mmmmm... Cheddar burgers and TaterTots. :)~

I got to chat with ego_id_non_feci and she confirmed I'm not crazy... Or at least that I'm as sane as she is, FWTW. ;)

Mightyjesse and I started making some skyr. Also, skyr is awesome with raw honey.

I put together thirty-two (32) veil kits. Some are for completing the handsewing kits, some are for my Pennsic class. I think I should cut about a dozen more, just to be sure I have enough... Maybe a dozen and a half... One can never be too careful...

Oi. Now my back is killing me - bedtime now, more work tomorrow!

Would you be interested in wholesaling some veil kits?

I had not really considered it, but you have access to whole new populations, so it's a seductive idea...

Do you mean the handsewing kit (see infomercial) or the veil kits (veil, bands, needle, linen thread, 8 pins, and tiny beeswax only)?

Forgot to mention this before--I'll take two sewing kits, one for the man-at-arms-in-law and one to have. We'll be in Korsvag this weekend.

Will do. "Early" or "late"?
Cat Dancerpixel39 on June 3rd, 2009 08:41 pm (UTC)
Early. Thanks!

It has the consistency of a thick yogurt, but is actually a type of cheese. It's made from skim milk and is very yummy. Period to the Viking Age and still eaten by Icelanders to this day. And Whole Foods does sell it here in America, but unfortunately for me, only on the East Coast. :-(

...and Madison, WI. :)

We are using some skyr from Whole Foods as the starter. It's $3 a pop, though.

Will you be at Silks?

Yes, most definitely now.

Yay! See you there!

What did you use as a starter for the skyr?

If it's not too late to ask now, my mom asked me to pick up a kit for her. Early please, if there's still a choice. I'll be at fighter practice tonight.

Will do.
