Costuming ftw, I'd say... the black and blue outfit looks particularly kick-ass, I think.

Thanks, that is my favorite too... and the skirt was a Vinnie's find, of all things! I'm in love with it and plan to wear it to work... with a more discreet shirt, of course!

Aww, but many of your patients are old, and could use the cheering up...

:p and many if them are not old, but pretty creepy. No.

But creepy people have needs, too... granted they often mostly need a stick, but that's a need, of a sort...

Fabulous! The passport photo looks suspiciously like one of my old family photos...I'll have to dig the album out sand see which one.

TeslaCon Fashions
Oooh! Nice. All the outfits are intriguing!
No wonder you're tired. That was allot of sewing & prep.
My favorites are the passport & black & blue one as well.
Of course, as your mother, I hope you don't wear that one to work.

Loved your costumes- instead of boycotting Teslacon next year I think we should take over a fair slice of it and make it better. I don't care if an overly defensive chap makes money off of our fun, as long as its fun and I get to dress up with my friends. (tho I agree with DameJ and the organizer should have taken the high road and simply apologized- I don't think he realizes how well regarded and connected you are, my dear!)

Well, it IS all about the pretty dresses... but, yeah, he just thinks I'm a random whiny newbie. :P He's also conflating my post, the comments, and space rays and somehow coming up with the idea that I think he's a bad person, which really misses the point and is making him seriously overreact.

Anyway, if I go next year, I have some definite Ideas.
* Better costuming - Duh.
* Calling cards - I had some this year, but they were a little plain.
* Schedule - I thought about creating a small-format schedule for my purse and I will need to invest the time next year.
* Dinner - there is a great, but expensive, formal steak place near there. I think it would be neat to have a dressed-up dinner Saturday night.
* Hotel block - I think it would be more fun if we were not all scattered around the hotel. Getting rooms closer together would allow more socialization and make it easier to get help with some of the more complicated costuming details and corset lacing. Otherwise, I might have to investigate bringing Denis along as a lady's maid. ;P
* Solar - I'd seriously consider getting a suite room so there was a solar for people to hang out in - sort of like the room PJ&S had this year, but open it up as common-use space. Then really trick out the room with props, including enough fake candles/lamps that we don't need the electric lights (or at least obvious electric lights) while entertaining. If I got really motivated, I could bring my collection and make it an apothecary shop. :D (*Geek squee*)
* Door contest - not having been to a Con before, I had no idea this was a Thing. Good glory could that be fun. :) Haz ideas, I do.
