Ups and Downs
The week was full of ups and downs.

Major Down - the formulary for 2011 was rejected and I had to spend a good chunk of the week working on resolving a serioes of errors. Also, because this was the "next upload after the issuance of this memo" we had to also do an extra layer of editing/format change before submitting. My co-worker was out for most of the week, which would have been fine since we were slow, but it also would have been nice to have someone to commiserate, since she used to do this at her previous position. In any event, I bring you this LOL Cats, which I have on my desk at work, retitled "CMS Cats" but with the same text.

Down, then up - School. My class this semester keeps getting away from me since it is entirely online and I keep forgetting about it. I thought the assignment due this week would be a minor thing and I'd just finish it Friday night at D&K's since they have wi-fi. Except that their wi-fi hated my computer. And the course wiki would not take the document unless it was uploaded one. paragraph. at. a. time. (kill me now.) I finally finished after 2AM, which was later than I had wanted to be up, but Em kept me company for a good chunk of that time, so the cute helped with combating the online BS.

Up - SUN! The Stellar University of Northshield was a lot of fun, at least once we got past the morning driving-sideways-through-an-intersection adventure. I took some lovely classes in the morning (dyeing, A&S competitions, Laurel meeting) and then watched Miss Em in the afternoon. I got to see part of Guttrom's Viking foodware class before Em crashed and burned, but then she was a very good girl during Juliana's class until Faelan scared her, apparently just by being Faelan... or maybe it was his stripey socks. We took a little change-and-cuddle break and once I got her to pass out I was able to return for the last 60% of Juliana's second C&I class as well. Not a bad percentage with a babe in tow. Dinner at Khan's was excellent as usual - both for the food and the company. We were bad people and fed Em a lime. She puckered like you have never seen, but kept putting it in her mouth. (Note - the lime *stopped* the tears - it just induced some quality facial expressions, no actual sadness.)

The postrevel at D&K's had no power for the first part, but folks made do and the candle-lit postrevel was actually sort of fun. The power came back on later, which was good since the well pump is sorta necessary for the potties to work. :P We stayed up entirely too late gabbing about this that and the other thing. Altogether an excellent night.

Down - Lost wallet. I somehow lost my wallet in between standing up at the end of dinner to give a newbie a card and getting to D&K's for the night. Despite checking at Khan's and in the snow around every place I parked, it did not turn up. There's still some hope it will turn up, but I sort of doubt it. :/ I HATE having to cancel my credit card - I have so many things on auto-pay it is a major pain to reset them all. *sigh* I didn't sleep well due to the worry and such, plus the five hour drive home with a yell-y baby and an over-caffeinated momma, so I am tired and will be headed to bed here shortly.

Up - a gaffiated Laurel asked me to sell off some of her books, as the local crack purveyor, so  I had a few folks over to peruse the selection and drink some tea. I may bring them to the Stock Pavilion this week, maybe next week. We'll see what the plans are since there are supposed to be animals in the stock pavilion this week. :P Imagine that! OK, per the Jara Hall, it will have to be next week!

I think it was that she can sense I'm a rapier fighter and hence cannot make her Queen like her mommy! Yeah that;s gotta be it.

I really think it was the socks. :) That, and she was stoopid tired. She didn't even fight it when I tried to put her down - five minutes of quiet walking, no tears, and out like a light.

Oh, hey, what? No stock this week?

Yeah - just this week, we are bumped so they can have animals in the animal use facility. :p

How did I not know that you had a little one?

60% attendance for A&S classes with a kiddo in tow is a MOST excellent percentage! Well done! (Last time I managed that, E was in utero!)

Not mine - ApprenticeSpawn. Her momma was teaching a cheese class where a crabby, drooling little teething babe would not be helpful.
