Quick update
It's been a busy few days...

Thursday night I spent the evening sewing with Thora. We created a truly eye-searing PINK! tunic for her, which is what she wanted, oddly enough. Friday, teffan  came to town and we hung out/worked on schoolwork/prepared for Boar's Head.

Saturday we got up way too early, shoveled, then and headed out to Boar's Head. The roads were not awful, but they were not pretty either. We took it slow and tried to stick to the main roads as much as possible. The event itself was odd for me since it was the first time I have merchanted, so I got a very different view of an event than usual. I got to see a lot of folks and I sold a ton of fabric and stuff I needed to get rid of, so it was a win. By dinnertime, though, I was not in the mood for feast and went with the fencer-folk out to dinner. (It was so good to see you, dread_ex !) That choice ended up being fortuitous since one of the party was ill and I was able to use my dorkPhone and my brainz to help find a solution. After dinner, teffan  and I stopped by the postrevel for a bit, then headed home via Milwaukee, since there was no way in hell I was driving dark snowy back roads in the middle of the night.

Sunday was an almost entirely wasted day. We slept in way too late, then did dinner, then General Meeting, then some schoolwork. Woo! Excitement! I took Monday off to hang with teffan  and we went out to lunch, toured Epic, visited the Duluth Trading Company, and then headed to campus. The new Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery was hosting an opening celebration on campus and Gauge is the head honcho of the food service, so we had to go spy. The food was good but the geek, oh, dear gods, the geek! Between the Rennebohm ice cream counter and the 3D printer and the delicious lab set ups and the Fibonacci Chimes and the Mesozoic Gardens... Oh, my! I was a happy geek. :) Squee!

Today, it was back to work to pay for my sins and day off by dealing with the giant pile of catch-up I had waiting for me. Afterward, I came home, made dinner, ate with mightyjesse, and got to hang with the bebe for a bit while she went to the bar to work on their system. Miss Em was somewhat displeased when she figured out that Evil Aunti Eithni was trying to put her to bed, but she got over it and snuggled in to let me read after a bit... However, a warm little bebe snuggled up on one means that less than 100 pages in, I passed out too. And the Ambition Sucking Chair claims two victims! Not as productive as I wanted to be, but a nice, relaxing evening.

'Ambition sucking chair'. Heh.

Can you tell us more about the geekiness, or is there info about all the stuff you mentioned on their website? I love to geek vicariously....

OOh - I skimmed and didn't see that the Discoery Center was BRAND new. How exciting! The website LOOKS like you can click on details of the exhibits, but you cannot. Waah!
3D printers are cool - I saw one at the Boston Science Festival last year. :)

It was great seeing you too :-)

Next time don't let drunk Santa chose where we eat.

Hey, I thought dinner was tasty, if somewhat out of the way.

Dinner was tasty. I just thought we were going to get mugged going through the alley.
