Full tilt
Yikes! Life has been very full and moving at lightning speed!

Last week was largely consumed by the final preparations for Bardic Madness. Happily, I was able to take some of my formulary-related comp time and take Thursday off so I could be out late enjoying a Seder on Wednesday, prep for a houseguest, pack for Bardic, and attend swords_and_pens ' reading in Madison. Unfortunately, I tried to kill my houseguest - I have birds, he has birds, it never occurred to me that he might be allergic to the down bed toppers, comforters, and pillows in my guest room. *facepalm* Luckily, he did not actually expire...

Friday, gflower and I drove to Albert Lea where we met up with belmikey  and D and continued the drive to Rapid City, SD. We stopped for lunch at Sushi Masa in Sioux Falls - sushi creeps me out, but they have some really wonderful offerings on their lunch menu. Mmmm... chicken katsu....The event itself was a reasonable success. My one big failure was leaving some signage at home, but I'd packed backup master copies and belmikey  was kind enough to run out and make copies for me. Attendance was lower than I'd have liked, but with it being in Schattentor and on Easter weekend, I suppose that was inevitable. I have some ideas for next year, but those are percolating - I'll think that over more later - for now, I'm happy to have it off my plate so I can focus on WW (and Griffin Needle, and EPS, and TeslaCon...).

It is a testament to the wonderfulness of my companions that the 14 hour trip both there and back went by quickly and most pleasantly. belmikey  did much of the driving, so I had a lot of down time between the drives and the event, I was able to churn out four linen white scarves, a silk white scarf, a few little wool bags, and an embroidered baby tunic. :D

This week went by quickly too. I took Thursday afternoon off (yay for more comp time) to drive up to the Cities and go to the Titian exhibit at the MIA. Today, wonder of wonders, I got to sleep in. teffan  and I are spending the day geeking and hanging out and this evening I'll be driving off to Fargo for Silks. Saturday will be full of geek and then the drive back to the Cities. Sunday, I will be running back to Madison for May Day and General Meeting to present stuff for WW and Griffin Needle (watch for the formal announcement in the coming days!), so today's planned day of sloth is a welcome break in a very full, very fun life that's going at full tilt these days...

Indeed it is. The world is a small, strange place. :)

$4/gal. gas put the final nails in the coffin for me. I just couldn't justify $200, even to see old friends and polish my performance skills.

I *told* you I wanted to sew for the spawn. Bebe clothes are so fun. No worries on whether or not you get a thank you card out - I know how busy new mommies can be - I'd really prefer a picture when he grows into it anyway. :)
