Indian Adventures - Introduction/Bangalore
Well, this is very delayed, but there is a lot of Life that accumulates when you are gone for about a month and then return only to be catapalted into the holidays. Better late than never, though...

India 2012 - Introduction - Travel and getting acclimated in Bangalore

October 25th-27th I flew from Chicago to Frankfurt and then from Frankfurt to Bangalore. That is a loooong time to be in transit, but happily Ben/Owen was there to greet me and take me back to the apartment where he and Jessica/Flori are living.

The first day was mostly about getting acclimated - I bought appropriate Indian clothes, I had my first terrifying autocab rides, we did some other fun shopping (including for silk saris!) , and had a great dinner out. The weather was warm, but not uncomfortably so, and it was much more the volume of life than the temperature that required some adjustment. India was just bigger, louder, faster, older, busier... just MORE of just about everything.

On the 28th, Ben and I got up early and went on some adventures - walking in Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, lunch at Mavalli Tiffin Rooms (MTR), a visit to a Nandi temple, and a quiet afternoon at home. Flori and I then grabbed a taxi to the train station and soon boarded our overnight sleeper to Kerala!

If you are on facebook, I have a decent set of photos there and also on photobucket, but those are not all labeled/named.
