Warriors and Warlords XX
Well, the Twentieth Anniversary of Warriors and Warlords (Northshield's big summer event, for you outlanders) has been laid to rest. Due to some unusual circumstances, I had been pulled in to serve again as autocrat - usually it's a two year stint, but I got to reprise the role after a one year break when the senior autocrat precipitously moved to Virginia. I got to autocrat with one of my best friends, though, so it was mostly good times. There was some lack of experienced staff, economic woes, a conflicting event, Pennsic the following weekend, and some Truly Epic Asshattery that all contributed to a lower than usual attendance, but people still seemed to have a very good time, so we'll call it a win. :) Kay and I got to serve the event birthday cake, sponsor torchlight games, and wear silly shiny hats together, so however the final budget shakes out, at least we threw an epic party. If nothing else, the weather was pretty much as good as could be asked - mid-80's with a breeze, NO STORM, and reasonable levels of humidity - for July in Wisconsin, it was miraculous.

And then you turn 'round and head east. Have safe travels, a terrific war, and grand stories to tell.

I'm not departing until Tuesday, which is probably good as I still have a lot to prep, but thanks!

Epic Asshattery? That is not good coming from you.

Best WW Ever! It was so worth the trip, I just wish I could have been there for the entire time.

Thanks so much for getting us the pizzas and for lending us your hubbin 'til the bitter end. We really could not have done it without him!
