I have a recurring nightmare where I'm trapped in a partially collapsed cave with several other people. This scenario involves getting stuck in a passage so narrow you have to slither along on your belly and having a panicked reaction that usually wakes me up.
Still, for some reason, caving in a lava tube seemed like an *awesome* idea, so I booked a horseride-in-the-morning/caving-in-the-a fternoon tour. It was dark and wet and kinda creepy-cool. On the way back to the surface, the guide mentioned that there were two ways back - the easy way we came in and the "tricky" way that involved some neat sights but tight spaces. Well, in for a penny, in for a pound, and I went with the tricky group. I tried to stick close to the guide as a woobie and did really pretty well, despite encountering a passage several meters long where the space to "crawl" through was perhaps 12" tall. Eeep.
But, you know what? It was ok, even fun. :) Yay for facing fears!
